Youth Advisory Council

Our Mission

The mission of Erie County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council is to encourage youth leadership and active community involvement in philanthropy, by observing local nonprofit organizations and responding to community needs through grant-making.

The Council’s Impact

Each year since 2001, 14 Erie County high school students, two from each of the seven Erie County High Schools have held seats on the Youth Advisory Council at Erie County Community Foundation. Youth Advisory Council students visit nonprofit organizations in Erie County each month during the school year to learn about the organization and how it serves our community’s needs.
